Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition's Amino Acid Division Announces Price Increase
Date:10/5/2018

The Amino Acid Technologies Division of Ajinomoto Health and Nutrition North America, Inc. (AHN), is announcing a 10% price increase across all markets in January 2019.

The global leader in amino acid manufacturing, AHN produces amino acids — the building blocks of protein — for the parenteral nutrition, biopharmaceutical, infant/medical food, supplement and nutrition markets.

Changing market conditions have contributed to an increase in production costs. Causes include:

  • Increase in raw material prices
  • Increase in transportation and energy costs
  • New global pharmacopoeia and regulatory requirements

“Unfortunately, this market situation will continue for the foreseeable future. Ajinomoto remains committed to producing the highest quality amino acids for our customers,” said Mike Lish, Senior Vice President, Amino Science Division.
