take advantage of enrolling their child into the free AMBER Ready
Program while attending the State Fair, there will be no charge
for the Fair Safety Program.
Representatives from AMBER Alert Safety Centers will be on-site offering all parents attending the State Fair the opportunity to enroll their children in the FREE AMBER Ready Program, enabling them to store their children's profiles in their wireless multimedia phones. By having a child "AMBER Ready," parents can ensure that police have the ability to instantly initiate a 'Be-On-the-Lookout' (BOLO), Missing Person Alert and/or an AMBER Alert using the child's identification information secured in the parents' phone.
According to the Department of Justice, approximately 797,500 children younger than 18 were reported missing in the one-year period of time studied, resulting in an average of 2,185 children being reported missing each day. Approximately 73% of all crimes against missing children occur within the first three hours of abduction.
Upon enrollment, each parent (or guardian) will receive AMBER Ready coverage for their children for two years at no charge; a free picture messaging phone (several models to choose from); free Saliva DNA, Fingerprinting and Dental Chart Kit; Free Safety Disk with photograph and child identification information; Free Internet Child Safety Tools; a donation made by the AMBER Alert Safety Foundation to the parent's state-sponsored AMBER Alert plan; AMBER Alerts transmitted directly to their cell phone relating to other missing children in their geographic vicinity; free child safety tips; and production of 1000 free full color posters if the parent's child is ever confirmed missing.
