2010 Meeting of the Americas, Brazil: News media registration open

AGU will operate a Press Room at the meeting. A series of press conferences, to be described in subsequent advisories, will highlight some of the newsworthy sessions at the Meeting of the Americas.

2. Hotel Booking Now Open

Rooms can now be reserved at 12 hotels with special meeting rates. Nightly charges range from 72 Reais to 386 Reais. All prices include breakfast.

3. Brazilian Visa Regulations for International Reporters

As a general rule, Brazil requests visas based on the principle of reciprocity of treatment given to Brazilian citizens. You do need a visa (either for tourism or business) BEFORE entering Brazil if you are a citizen of the United States. For more travel information: http://www.geophysics2010.org/useful_info.htm

4. News Media Registration Information

News Media registrants receive a badge that provides access to any of the scientific sessions of the meeting, as well as to the Press Room. Press registration is complimentary.
