Minisatellite


Minisatellite
Highly polymorphic DNA markers comprised of a variable number of tandem repeats that tend to cluster near the telomeric ends of chromosomes. The repeats often contain a repeat of 10 nucleotides. They are used for genetic mapping. Cf.
