Denaturing Gel

A denaturing gel is a type of electrophoresis in which the native structure of macromolecules that are run within the gel is not maintained. For instance, gels used in SDS-PAGE will unfold and denature the native structure of a protein. In contrast to Native Gel Electrophoresis, quaternary structure cannot be investigated using this method.
