Catalase

Catalase. It catalyzes the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen.
2H2O2 -> 2H2O + O2
One molecule of catalase can break 40 million molecules of hydrogen peroxide each second.
Full article >>>

Catalase uses H2O2 generated by other enzymes in the peroxisome to oxidize other substrates, including phenols, formic acid, formaldehyde and alcohol, by means of the peroxidation reaction:
H2O2 + R'H2 ' R' + 2H2O ...

catalase
An enzyme found in tissues, such as the liver, whose function is to catalyze the breakdown of toxic hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen.
Full article >>>

Catalase: converts hydrogen peroxide to oxygen and water
Chitinase: breaks down chitin
Cholinesterase
Chymosin: better known as rennet, contained in the stomachs of many animals and causes milk to curdle
Chymotrypsin: can digest proteins ...

High levels of two oxygen toxicity defense enzymes, superoxide dismutase and catalase, are also found in D. radiodurans.
Full article >>>

Among antioxidative agents are found enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and glucose oxidase-catalase.
Full article >>>

are vesicles that contain enzymes which oxidize (remove hydrogen) from a variety of different compounds and pass the hydrogen to oxygen. During these reactions, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is formed. Hydrogen peroxide is toxic but the enzyme catalase ...
