Sprains and
Strains Overview
People are able to move because
muscles contract and
make the
joints that they cross, move.
Muscles attach on each side of the
joint to bone by thick bands of fibrous
tissue called
tendons.

A
sprain is an
injury to the
ligaments around a
joint.
Ligaments are strong, flexible
fibers that hold bones together. When a
ligament is stretched too far or tears, the
joint will become painful and swell.

sprains occur when you roll your foot to the inside while stepping down -- but you know that now. This generally injures the
anterior talofibular

fracture the outside foot bones in this type of
injury.
Full article >>>Sprains occur most often in your ankles, knees or the arches of your feet.
Sprained
ligaments swell rapidly and are painful. Generally the greater the
pain, the more severe the
injury.
Full article >>>Sprains are pulls or
partial tears of
muscles or
ligaments.
Ligament sprains vary in severity from minor tears in a few
fibers of
ligament to complete tears of entire
ligaments and loss of the use of a
joint.
Full article >>>Sprains are a painful stretching of
ligaments of the
joints, caused by lifting, sudden stops or turns,
