FIBRIN SPLIT PRODUCTS - A test that measures
fibrin degradation products (FDP's) which result from the dissolution of a
blood clot. Normal value is less than 10 mcg/ml (micrograms per milliliter).
Full article >>>Fibrinogen is broken down by an
enzyme called thrombin into short fragments of
fibrin. Thrombin also activates a substance called
Factor XIII.
Full article >>>Fibrin: The
protein formed during normal
blood clotting that is the essence of the
clot.

protein in your
blood that plays a central role in
blood clotting. But too much may promote excessive clumping of
platelets, the type of
blood cell largely responsible for clotting.

Full article >>>Blood clots (
fibrin clots) are the clumps that result from coagulation of the
blood. A
blood clot that forms in a vessel or within the
heart and remains there is called a thrombus.

vitamin K and a
protein called
fibrinogen help the
platelets form a
clot. They are released by
platelets and stimulate coagulation of the
blood.
Full article >>>This is a condition in which the number of
platelets, which enable
blood to
clot, is reduced, and
fibrinogen and some other clotting factors are depleted.

fibrinogen, Factor II is prothrombin, and
