Tricuspid valve


tricuspid valve: a valve that passes blood from the right atrium into the right ventricle.
tRNA: transfer RNA; RNA molecules in the cytoplasm of a cell that carry amino acids to the ribosomes for protein synthesis.

It flows through the tricuspid valve into the right ventricle. The term tricuspid refers to the three flaps of tissue that make up the valve.
Contraction of the ventricle then closes the tricuspid valve and forces open the pulmonary valve.

The blood then passes through the tricuspid valve to the right ventricle. The right ventricle pumps the deoxygenated blood to the lungs, through the pulmonary artery.
