messenger RNA (mRNA). This will later be translated into a polypeptide.
ribosomal RNA (rRNA). This will be used in the building of ribosomes: machinery for synthesizing proteins by translating mRNA.

Messenger RNA (mRNA)
Messenger RNA contains genetic information. It is a copy of a portion of the DNA.
It carries genetic information from the gene (DNA) out of the nucleus, into the cytoplasm of the cell where it is translated to produce protein.

Messenger RNA (mRNA)
RNA that serves as a template for protein synthesis or for synthesis of cDNA. See genetic code.
Related Terms: Ribonucleic acid (RNA) ...

Messenger RNA (mRNA) is transcribed directly (splicing in eukaryotes) from a gene's DNA (in eukaryotes exported into the cytoplasm) and is used to encode proteins.

Metaphase A stage in mitosis or meiosis during which the chromosomes are aligned along the equatorial plane of the cell.

Messenger RNA (mRNA)
The transcript of a segment of chromosomal DNA which is a template for protein synthesis.
Methyl transferase
Enzymes that catalyze the transfer of methyl groups from one molecule to another.

Messenger RNA (mRNA): A single-stranded molecule of ribonucleic acid that directs protein production.
Mitosis: The production of c ells that are genetically identical to the original cell. Compare to meiosis.

messenger RNA (mRNA)
A type of RNA synthesized from DNA in the genetic material that attaches to ribosomes in the cytoplasm and specifies the primary structure of a protein.

Messenger RNA (mRNA) is the blueprint for construction of a protein. Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) is the construction site where the protein is made. Transfer RNA (tRNA) is the truck delivering the proper amino acid to the site at the right time.

messenger RNA A single-stranded polyribonucleotide; formed in the nucleus from a DNA template and carries the transcribed genetic code to the ribosome where the genetic code is translated into protein.

Messenger RNA (mRNA). The class of RNA molecules that copies the genetic information from DNA, in the nucleus, and carries it to ribosomes, in the cytoplasm, where it is translated into protein. (See RNA.) ...

Messenger RNA (mRNA): Proteins are not synthesized directly from genomic DNA. Instead, an RNA template (a precursor mRNA) is constructed from the sequence of the gene. This RNA is then processed in various ways, including splicing.

The messenger RNA (mRNA), the product of transcription and splicing, carries the code for the order of insertion of amino acids. This genetic code is a triplet code without punctuation.

mRNA: messenger RNA; the RNA molecules that receive the genetic code in the DNA and carry the code into the cytoplasm where protein synthesis takes place.

mRNA: "messenger RNA" or sometimes just "message"; an RNA which contains sequences coding for a protein.

What is messenger RNA?
The sequences coding for proteins are present in the DNA in the genome, but they first have to be transcribed into RNA in the form of RNA sequences, ...

A nucleotide base triplet in a transfer RNA molecule that pairs with a complementary base triplet, or codon, in a messenger RNA molecule. See Codon, Messenger RNA, RNA. Antigen.

In translation, Messenger RNA (mRNA) is decoded to produce a specific polypeptide according to the rules specified by the genetic code. Translation is necessarily preceded by transcription.
