Linkage map A
genetic map assembled from
recombination data that shows the
order of mutant sites and genes along a
nucleic acid molecule.
Full article >>>linkage mapA
genetic map based on the frequencies of
recombination between
markers during
crossing over of
homologous chromosomes. The greater the frequency of
recombination between two
genetic markers, the farther apart they are assumed to be.

Linked genes/
markers. Genes and/or
markers that are so closely associated on the
chromosome that they are coinherited in 80% or more of cases.
Full article >>>Linkage map: A map of the relative positions of genetic
loci on a
chromosome, determined on the basis of how often the
loci are inherited together. Distance is measured in
centimorgans (cM).

linkage map based on Centre d'Etude du

Full article >>>gene linkage map: a map that pinpoints the location of genes based on their connection to certain
marker gene sequences.
gene pool: the collection of genes within a
population; as changes in the
gene pool occur, a
population evolves.

linkage map) a
chromosome map of a
species that shows the position of its known genes and/or
markers relative to each other, rather than as specific physical points on each
