Interneuron

Interneurons
These are found exclusively within the spinal cord and brain. They are stimulated by signals reaching them from
sensory neurons
other interneurons or
both.

interneurons Neurons that process signals from one or more sensory neurons and relay signals to motor neurons. Aka connector neurons.
internodes The stem regions between nodes in plants.

interneuron
An association neuron; a nerve cell within the central nervous system that forms synapses with sensory and motor neurons and integrates sensory input and motor output.

interneuron: a type of neuron that connects sensory and motor neurons and carries stimuli in the brain and spinal cord.
Full article >>>

interneuron A neuron located between a sensory neuron and a motor neuron. Interneurons function as integrating centers.
internode Region on a stem between nodes.

Absence of Gli2 leads to a complete loss of floor plate and a reduction in V3 interneurons, cell types that are dependent on high levels of Shh activity for their specification.

There are three classes of neurons: afferent neurons, efferent neurons, and interneurons.
Full article >>>

Afferent neurons convey information from tissues and organs into the central nervous system.
Efferent neurons transmit signals from the central nervous system to the effector cells.
Interneurons connect neurons within specific regions of the ...

Whereas botulinum neurotoxins remain at the neuromuscular junction, tetanus toxin is retrogradely transported along the axon to the cell body, where it is released into the intersynaptic space and is internalized by adjacent inhibitory interneurons.
