Dendritic cell


Dendritic cells start out as immature dendritic cells. These cells are characterized by high endocytic activity and low T-cell activation potential. Dendritic cells constantly sample the surroundings for viruses and bacteria.

MHC Class II molecules are found only on a few specialized cell types, including macrophages, dendritic cells, activated T cells, and B cells, all of which are professional antigen-presenting cells (APCs).
