Cell nucleusIn
cell biology, the
nucleus (from Latin
nucleus or nuculeus, kernel) is an
organelle, found in the majority of eukaryotic
cells, which contains most of the
cell's
genetic material.

cell's information center)
The
cell nucleus is the most conspicuous
organelle found in a eukaryotic
cell. It houses the
cell's
chromosomes, and is the place where almost all
DNA replication and
RNA synthesis occur.

DNA replicates itself.
RNA, however, substitutes the sugar ribose for
deoxyribose and the
base uracil for
thymine, and is usually single-
stranded.
